Oct. 4 Office Hours

This week was a very productive office hours, with two very key meetings, which made me very excited.

Airport Mall Project

I met with the former owners of the mall, Govind and Pratik Chandak along with the new owners, who are excited to meet with staff, submit plans for the China Town.    They have agreed to my idea, of having a 3000 square foot Innovation Center in the Center, and also envision restaurants, a possible 5 star Hotel, and to design this Center, like the American Tobacco Campus.    They are already receiving interest in tenants from UNC Health Care for a training facility and are very excited about the opportunity for Morrisville to have an Innovation Center, like Raleigh HUB or Tobacco Campus in Durham.

Dicky Walia and investors

Met briefly with Dicky Walia and and an investor, interested in developing a possible Town Center project and also interested in the Mcrimmon area.    Next step will be to meet with staff and I am working on setting this up.

Panther Creek students

I met with two Panther Creek students, who are interested in working with me to offer more Youth Entrepreneurship camps in the area.    They have asked that I schedhule a visit with the Business and entrepreneur class, next week, so we will look forward to this meeting.

Angel investors and entrepreneurs

FInal meeting was with local entrepreneurs and investors, who are working with me to host a roundtable with legislators and Commerce officials to address what we need to do to drive more innovation and small business growth in the region.    I am looking forward to this event and do look forward to continued success in the region.

As always, a very informative and productive office hours, and I thank the citizens and individuals, who visit me every week.
