Ed White, cEO, Field 2 Base, Owner/Developer, Town Hall Commons LLC

As a business owner and a real estate investor in Morrisville, I am delighted to support Steve Rao in his bid for another term as a member of the Morrisville Town Council. I have known Steve for 10 plus years and have worked with him as a business person as well as a Town Council member. Steve brings a very strong background from the business community to the Town Council and has demonstrated many times the ability to assemble the facts and then make decisions based on those facts that are in the best interest of Morrisville. With the experience of his current term and this business background, I believe that Steve is in a great position to serve all residents of Morrisville and provide leadership on many of the critical issues that come before the Town Council. Steve has used his business background to promote entrepreneurial activity in Morrisville which has been recognized by the Morrisville Chamber and members of the business community as key to future job growth that benefits all residents of Morrisville and the surrounding areas.

Karl THor, President, EFFLUX Pharma,HOTTIES Program

I would like to thank Councilman Rao for his support of programs that create a nurturing environment for biotech start-up companies in Morrisville such as the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce HOTTies (Heart Of The Triangle) program.  I am impressed not only by his official efforts on behalf of the town, but his personal, unofficial continued support and enthusiasm in providing valuable contacts that have led to mutually beneficial relationships that increase all of our probabilities for success.

Jobs created in the biotech sector tend to provide higher socioeconomic returns to the community by attracting a highly-educated, well-compensated, socially-stable work force that has a vested interest in maintaining community support for education, environmental protections, and subsequent economic vitality.   Numerous studies have shown that government investments in biotech industries provides one of the highest positive “returns on investments” (ROI).  My colleagues and I expect to contribute to the economic success of Morrisville and the Triangle region while strengthening the cultural fabric of the town to maintain an environment that stimulates entrepreneurial growth.  Without forward-thinking, hard-working, responsive representatives like Steve Rao, companies like mine might be drawn to more established hotbeds of biotech such as Boston, San Francisco, Washington DC.  Steve, thanks again for faciltating an opportunity to live and work in this remarkable Triangle environment.

I have known Steve Rao for a number of years and he has been an inspiration to our community, serving as the first Indian American elected official in Wake County.   Steve has worked hard in his first term and has brought a new, fresh perspective to the Council, leading in the areas of entrepreneurship, job creation, and global talent.   Thanks, Steve for all you do, and I look forward to more of your leadership in the years to come.

Mr. Rao was a tremendous help towards my partner and I. With the amount of ample suggestions that he provided for our business idea, we have created a new business plan and can hopefully make our dream a reality. He showed us a completely new way to go about our work. You can tell that he genuinely cares about our business and really wants to help us achieve our goal. He has great work ethic and a great message for young entrepreneurs. We recall him saying, “Young entrepreneurs are the future of this worlds economy.” We know that he uses the best of his ability to better everyone else before himself and for that we thank him!
