TYE Launch at TIE Carolinas

Last evening, I attended the TYE or The Young Entrepreneurs, hosted by the TIE Carolinas and TIE Global Chapter.

TIE Carolinas President, Abhi Muthuyan, reminded each of us, that TIE represents the largest entrepreneurship and mentoring organization in the world, with over 60 chapters in 45 countries, and over 60,000 members.

Having this global organization right here, presents a tremendous opportunity for us to market our region and the Triangle, that we are a destination, for innovation and great ideas.

I was honored to provide opening remarks at this launch event, which will now begin the incredible journey of the high school students, in our area, selected for a business competition.

Each team will create a business idea, will develop the plan, be provided mentorship by business leaders in the community, and then will participate in the final business plan competition, and will have the opportunity to compete against students from  around the world at the Global Competition in June in Los Angeles, California.

The students were inspired by some of the past graduates, who have now gone on to start their own businesses and I reminded the organization, the volunteers, and the TIE organization, how proud I am of the hard work we are all doing to harness the young talent of our region and to create more jobs and opportunity through the growth of entrepreneurial companies, and small businesses.

Finally, I thanked the Morrisville Innovation Foundation, and the Hottie entrepreneurs, (ChAPPTER1 was in the audience) for the successful completion of our own entrepreneurship initiative in Morrisville.
