RTP 180 event

On Wednesday,  I had the honor of attending the RTP 180 event on Open Source technologies and Open Data.

RTP 180 events are hosted by the Research Triangle Foundation, in an effort to bring together techies, entrepeneurs, and thought leaders from around the region to share ideas, collaborate, and educate each other on trends in the industry.

We heard from Ian Henshaw on Cary Open Data Day, NC Datapalooza, and the plans underway for a Triangle Open Data Day.    Other speakers featured Reid Serozi from Socrata, Jason Hibbbets from Red Hat, and Carlos Santana from IBM to name a few, each one speaking or addressing on the open source/open data opportunities int he Triangle.

A very exciting event and I was able to be recognized for my efforts and our efforts in Morrisivlle to serve as a hub of innovation and to be a part of these exciting trends in the region.

Tacos and beer afterwards!    A great way to end a great day.
