Morrisvillle Recycling poster contest winners was a highlight with a number of winners from Morrisville Elementary and Cedar Fork Elementary Schools. Great work, kids!
Congrats to Bo Singleton, who has received the recognition of Certified Information Officer, after completing a certification course.
Welcome to Greg Matsuara, Recreation Program Specialist, Jeffrey Borchik, Crime Analyst, and Joseph Calzretta/Gideon LeCraft, filling vacant police officer positions.
Quarterly Transportation Report
Benjamin Howell delivered a very informative Quarterly Transportation Report, reviewing the Town progress on grant funded, bond funded, and state funded transportation projects.
He also reviewed the SPOT 3.0 program, a strategic prioritization process used by NC DOT to rank transportation projects.
A copy of the Transportation Report will be posted on my Council site and Steve Rao.com site in early December.
Action Items
Council approved the Church Street Sidewalk Project, and they approved and voted for the 11 members and 2 alternates to the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Transportation Funding.

Congratulations to the new members: Robert Bush, Craig Groce, Melissa Holloway, Reza Jafari, Lee Langston, Kenya Oduor, Michael Roberts, Amar Sarvepalli, Jason Shronce, Narendra Singh and Cindy Szwarckop.
Alternates will be Brij Shah, James Klopovic, and John Smith.
I commend the Mayor and the Council approving this Task Force. After listening to hundreds of citizens through my recent re-election campaign, I am convinced that the most important issue facing our Town is transportation infrastructure and how it can accommodate the area’s rapid growth. This Task Force is the first step in taking action to address and find solutions to this pressing problem. Lets get to work!
The evening ended with Council Comments, where I got an update on the Holiday Parade, thanked the staff for a great year, and also gave kudos to Jerry Allen and the Parks and Rec Department. They revealed that our Dept. received a $350,000 grant from Wake County for the new RTP Park!
I look forward to the Organizational meeting on Dec. 10th, when we swear in the new Council.
