Jan 6- Jan 11 Week in Review

I had a very productive week with activity always increasing in Morrisville.

Triangle J Meeting with Secretary Tata

Secretary Tata spent an hour with Mayors and elected officials, highlighting progress the DOT has made in the areas of customer service, job creation, and the success of the strategic funding formula.    I was excited to learn of how EB5 and Foreign Direct Investment can also be considered for Transportation projects.

Start Up Networking

I enjoyed an hour of networking with local entrepreneurs at the Start Up Networking Event at Ruckus.    Carlotta updated the attendees on the Hotties program and we are seeing more start ups interested in our initiatives and I reiterated my support of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Council Office Hours

Tennis Academy:  I met again with the interested parties on the Tennis Academy, now looking at the property, adjacent to Morrisville Commons.   Next step is to get a business plan and a meeting with Planning Staff.

Squash Courts:  I met with two citizens, interested in having Squash courts in Morrisville. I am connecting them with the Tennis investors but also am open to seeing if we can have Squash courts as part of the MAFC renovation as there does seem to be more of a revenue generation opportunity with youth, and adults interested in squash.   One of the folks I met with coaches squash at Lifetime Fitness and he sees the youth programs, growing more in squash, and also more interest in collegiate squash.

CHappter 1:  I met with one of our Hottie companies, CHappter 1, to help them with ideas on how to better market their camps.

Pictured here with my good friend, AG, Roy Cooper at a recent event we attended together.
