Last evening, I attended the Western Wake County Democratic Meeting at IHOP in Cary. School Board member, Jim Martin, shared with us how recent developments at the Legislature are hurting our school board’s efforts to provide the highest quality education to our children. Great to see Chairperson, of Public Safety Committee and Morrisville resident, Vicki Scroggins-Johnson there.
The biggest concerns are the County Commission taking control of school construction, the redistricting taking place, which will decrease the term length of our current members, and cuts to education funding and teacher tenure. As a businessman and elected official and parent of kids in the Wake County school system, I am very concerned about these recent developments.
