I ended the day at the Awards Presentation for the Youth Cricket Tournament and presented the Awards, along with the Mayor, who presented the Alvin Kallicharen Cup to team California.    I presented the Certificates to all the players, and to the MVP, and most bats and runs awards.

I thanked all of the parents, coaches, and the Triangle Cricket League, for growing this global sport and also to the visitors/players from the states of California and New Jersey, who attended the tournament.

We welcome them to North Carolina and Morrisville, and make no mistake, we welcome them to the Cricket Capital of the United States, Morrisville!

Future generations of Wake County citizens will benefit from the vision and will of the Triangle Cricket League.

The most moving part of the ceremony was the remarks given by Alvin Kallicharen, former World Cup Cricket Champion, and soon to be Morrisville resident.    Alvin, in an emotional speech, reminded the kids of how they must be so grateful to play the game, to earn everything they can through hard work, and is very excited about the growth of the Cricket Leagues in the area.

Thanks to the TCL, Town Staff, and to all of the partipants, who made this tournament a great success.
