I attended the Extreme Networks Ribbon Cutting on Thursday at the RDU Center.
Their state of the art offices will enable the technology company to grow and I was impressed with their visionary CEO, Chris Berger, whom we were trying to convince to move to Morrisville from the Bay Area.
Mayor Holcombe, Councilmember Lori Bush, and myself were the elected officials present at this event and the Mayor spoke and cut the ribbon.
During the event, I was able to interact with a number of Executives at the company, sharing with them how our local entrepreneurs in the tech sector could benefit from mentors from our local tech companies. I suggested having managers at Extreme interact and participate with the HOTTIES Program, and actually share ideas with how to market and create best of breed technology.
Finally, we heard from my good friend, Tony Alameda Senior Economic Advisor to the Governor, who was excited about the Triangle’ job growth in our state. Was also excited about the Public Private Partnership with the Commerce Department. Tony and I will be meeting in a few weeks to discuss the Governor’s Business Development trip to India, and also some of the recent international partnerships we are establishing, most notably with the Genome Valley in Andrapradesh, India. A great meeting and once again, a great celebration of more job creation!
