Dr. June Atkinson met with Morrisville residents on Oct 10 to discuss the Common Core State Standards and how NC schools compare with other states and other nations.

I organized this meeting so our citizens could hear firsthand about how this new initiative is being implemented in North Carolina. Dr. Atkinson shared some useful data but also stressed the need for teacher support. Many interesting questions were posed by the audience. She also thanked Morrisville residents for approving the school bond referendum.
