My last Fall Office Hours were productive but not as busy as usual. Starting next week, Office Hours will move to Fridays at noon.
Chia Chi: Chia Chi runs the IBM Global entreprenenurship Program and is very interested in working with me to offer a more structured mentoring program for the Hottovation program. IBM has a number of teams within the company that focus on emerging technologies, and perhaps, these teams could help support local entrepreneurs.
In addition, Chia is very interested in working with me to establish a more regional entrepreneurship initiative, which is focused across the Triangle and Wake County, as many cities and towns are each doing their own thing. Next step is for her and I to meet in a few weeks to begin some of this work and to move forward on some of these ideas.
Fred Farrell, Triangle Transit: Based on numerous constituent requests from Senior Citizens to have a C Tran bus stop closer to Preston Pointe community, I spoke to Fred Farrell from Triangle Transit, who is submitting my request to the Town of Cary, to see what the process is to request another C Tran stop in Morrisville, closer to Park West and Preston Pointe. The closest stop at the moment and only stop in Morrisville is off of Airport Boulevard.
Jason Hare: Met briefly with Jason who is interested in working to provide ideas to staff on our Open Data Initiative in Morrisville. He and I will be meeting again next week to continue these efforts with transportation being our main focus.
I look forward to Fall Office Hours next week and do look forward to a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
